On behalf of our staff, we welcome you to our office. We are pleased that you have selected us to care for your dental needs and we look forward to your initial visit. We want you to know that we are committed to providing you with the highest quality of oral health care in the most efficient and gentle manner possible. We pride ourselves on making dentistry a pleasant and relaxing experience for you, while providing you with the best dental treatment.

As your team of dental health professionals, we want you to be confident knowing that we are a team of highly trained and skilled clinicians. We pride ourselves in providing the care you need to keep your smile healthy. To give you the best possible service and results, we are committed to continuing education. We regularly attend dental lectures, meetings, and dental conventions to stay informed of new techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that we can utilize to provide state-of-the-art dental care. We are also members of many professional dental associations which help us stay ahead of the changes and recommendations for our profession.

Your First Visit

We would like to tell you what you can expect on your first visit to our office. We will take the time to give you the personal attention you deserve and conduct a complete, comprehensive examination. This exam will include necessary x-rays allowing us to diagnose the condition of your mouth, teeth and gums. We also complete an oral cancer exam, as recommended by the American Cancer Society. We chart the existing condition of each tooth, such as: decay, fillings, crowns, fractured teeth, irregular formation, rotation, shifting of your teeth, or excessive wear. Dr. Hapney will complete an oral, facial and joint muscle exam, including an examination of the jaw joint. Our dental hygienist will measure the gum tissue around each tooth to detect periodontal disease and recession. We will also take photos to use as a record of existing conditions and to aid in planning future treatment. In most instances, your dental condition will be determined at this visit, and if needed, a suitable treatment plan will be discussed with you.

Our new patient registration forms are available on the Patient Forms page to fill out prior to your initial visit. If you decide not to fill out the new patient form online, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete registration forms. We look forward to your visit.

• Dr. Hapney and her team go above and beyond to make you feel like a family member and not just another person coming into their office. They really take the time to explain in detail any treatment that is needed. The first visit was a little longer because they took the time to do a through exam of the health of my gums and teeth but I felt like I had been educated on what was going on and needed to be done. The Spa offers the best facials and chemical peels. Shawna is excellent at helping you with skin care as well.

• The service is really great here! All of the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Besides having a state of the art office, up-to-date technology, and a variety of spa services, their flexible scheduling is another unique aspect of Five Forks Dental Care. To date, they are the only dental office (of which I am aware) that schedules Saturday appointment!!!! This is a big deal for me since I am a UPS driver and typically work well past their daily closing hours during the Monday-Friday work week. Before, I would have to schedule a day off just to make my dental appointments, or go in before work. The latter really would stress me out because I didn't want to be late for work, which did happen when I was at another office. The Saturday appointments are consistent, convenient, and care-free (i.e., stress-free--just sticking with the 'c' alliteration here...lol). Please keep up the good work, and as Arnold S would say: "I'll be back!"

• I had my first official cleaning with Five Fork Dental. I had been to the office for a consultation at which time I was treated to a wonderful hot paraffin wax hand treatment. On both visits, the entire office staff was warm and welcoming. I felt like I was well taken care of with a thorough exam and had the full attention of both the Dental Hygienist and Dr. Vance. Dr. Vance spent quite a bit of time with me explaining some concerns and a treatment plan. I am very happy with Five Fork Dental and have finally found my dental care home!
