Your First Visit
We would like to tell you what you can expect on your first visit to our office. We will take the time to give you the personal attention you deserve and conduct a complete, comprehensive examination. This exam will include necessary x-rays allowing us to diagnose the condition of your mouth, teeth and gums. We also complete an oral cancer exam, as recommended by the American Cancer Society. We chart the existing condition of each tooth, such as: decay, fillings, crowns, fractured teeth, irregular formation, rotation, shifting of your teeth, or excessive wear. Dr. Hapney will complete an oral, facial and joint muscle exam, including an examination of the jaw joint. Our dental hygienist will measure the gum tissue around each tooth to detect periodontal disease and recession. We will also take photos to use as a record of existing conditions and to aid in planning future treatment. In most instances, your dental condition will be determined at this visit, and if needed, a suitable treatment plan will be discussed with you.
Our new patient registration forms are available on our website to download and fill out prior to your initial visit. If you don't have access to the internet or a printer, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete registration forms. We look forward to your visit.
